KMC dozer in Kapan, locals protested

KATHMANDU: Following the reaching of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) bulldozer in Kapan, aimed at demolishing houses constructed through encroachments onto the riverbanks, local residents protested.

The metropolitan team reported that the residences built by intruding on the river with no setback near the Saat Tale Chowk on the border of Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality-10 and Budhanilkantha Municipality 7.

They did, however, protest, claiming that the city had terrorized the locals with dozer during the monsoon season.

The authority has been unable to use the dozer due to local protests.

Discussions are being held between the metropolitan, Budanilkantha Municipality and local residents to resolve the problem.
