England and Denmark in the knockout stage

KATHMANDU: England and Denmark have advanced from Group ‘D’ to the last 16 of the Women’s World Cup 2023.

England will now face Nigeria in the knockout stage, while Denmark will face co-host Australia.

While winning the group, European champions England defeated China 6-1 in their third successive game on Tuesday.

Lauren James scored twice in the game.

Denmark defeated Haiti 2-0 in a similar encounter. China was limited to three points and was forced to withdraw from the competition. Haiti’s score remained at zero.
