Australia and Nigeria into knockout stage

KATHMANDU: Australia did not suffer the same fate as co-hosts New Zealand and advanced to the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup 2023 on Monday.

Australia needed a win to secure their place in the next round. Just the day before, New Zealand’s challenge was ended at the group stage.

Nigeria finished second with five points. Canada was limited to four points and exited the tournament. Similarly, Ireland was limited to one point.
