Short movie ‘U Garera U Garau’ (video)

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City released a short video titled ‘U Garera U Garau’ that tells the narrative of local judicial resolution. It was posted on social media (Metro News YouTube) alongside the special performance.
The work, process and stages of the judicial committee in trying to resolve disputes related to family and social life are included in the story.
Directed by Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya, there is Acharya’s story, screenplay and dialogues. Along with Maha Jodi, Bashundhara Bhushal, Ravi Dangol, Pradeep Bastola, Narendra Kansakar, Arju Karki, Shalinee Bista Bhattarai, Bigisha Adhikari, Manju Shrestha, Sunita Shrestha and others are acted in the movie.
Sunita Dangol, Deputy Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Coordinator of the Judicial Committee spoke at the film’s premiere, recalling that shortly after taking office, she decided to establish and operate a reconciliation centre for local dispute resolution and to form a women’s network to that end.
