Japan has advanced to the round of 16 after winning its second consecutive game in Group C.
Japan defeated Costa Rica 2-0 on Wednesday. Hikaru Naomoto’s goal in the 25th minute of the game gave Japan the lead.
Japan won 2-0 after Aoba Fujino scored in the 27th minute. Both players made good use of Tanaka’s pass while scoring.
Japan gained three points with an easy win in the group’s second match. Japan’s group limit is six points earned from two games.
