KATHMANDU: Brazil kicked off the Women’s World Cup 2023 with a resounding victory on Monday.

Brazil trounced Panama, who were making their World Cup debut, 4-0 in group ‘H’ play.

Ary Borges was the triumphant hero.

She had an outstanding performance, completing her hat trick. This is the World Cup’s first hat trick. Beatriz Zaneratto assisted on another goal.

Brazil stayed in first place in their group with this victory, with three points.

France and Jamaica have previously drawn 0-0 in this group.
