KATHMANDU: Sweden, which is considered a title contender, defeated South Africa 2-1 on Sunday in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

When the game was on the verge of a draw, Amanda Ilestedt scored the game-winning goal for Sweden in the 90th minute, capping off the team’s comeback triumph.

Sweden has grabbed an early lead in Group ‘G’ with its victory.
