KATHMANDU: Nepal Trade Union Congress Demonstration Demanding Increase in Workers’ Wages Nepal Trade Union Congress has demonstrated demanding an increase in living wages for workers.

The Nepal Trade Union Congress, an organization of the ruling party Nepali Congress, gathered at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Sunday and held a pressure demonstration.

Yogendra Kumar Kunwar, Chair of Nepal Trade Union Congress, stated that employees’ pay would be increased every two years, and although the work is moving as planned, they have created a pressure program to notify the government. He stated that this program has been running for a week.

He stated that a memorandum has been filed to the local and state governments in order to raise the minimum pay of employees to at least 25,000 and that it would be brought to the attention of the central government today.

Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) They put pressure on the government by holding placards and banners with slogans like “Maintain the minimum wage of workers at 25,000,” “Form a labor commission,” “Assist workers in policy and construction,” “Implement mandatory contribution-based social security,” and “Register workers at the local level.”
