Parbat jeep accident: one dies, 11 injured

KATHMANDU: One girl died and 11 others were injured in a jeep accident that took place last night in Goudamuni of Durlung, Kushma Municipality-3, Parbat.

According to Suman Niure, Chief of District Traffic Police Office, Parbat, a jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5229) was traveling from Kushma to Durlung when it was involved in an accident.

Sheetal BK, a seven-year-old girl from Kushma-3, died during treatment after being critically injured in the accident. She died in the Parbat hospital while being treated for severe head and eye injuries.

Prince Kshetri, four, and Chandrakala Kshetri, 50, both from the same village, have been sent to Gandaki Hospital Pokhara for further treatment. According to the authorities, both of them are in fair condition.

Three-year-old Saurabh BK, 23-year-old Shanti BK, 70-year-old Krishna Prasad Padhya, 16-year-old Nishan Pariyar, 55-year-old Hiradevi Magar, 35-year-old Meen Bahadur Chhetri, 47-year-old Amrit Sharma, 76-year-old Bhajat Sharma, 16-year-old Amar BK of Pokhara were identified as injured in the accident. They are undergoing treatment at the local health facility.

The jeep, which was traveling uphill, lost control and fell around 30-35 meters from the road.

Police inspector Prakash Rawat stated that the driver of the jeep has been taken into custody for necessary action.
