KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is going to hold a vigilance program today against caste discrimination in Nepal.

Purna Basnet, the party’s central propaganda department chief, announced that the party’s Central Propaganda Department chief Purna Basnet will hold a vigilance program in response to the recent incident of house burning in Jumla in protest of inter-caste marriage and the alleged lower caste in Dang.

According to him, a vigilance program against the incident would be organized today at 1 p.m. in Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.

The program also calls on the party’s leaders, workers, and ordinary citizens to join the battle against caste prejudice.

Shilpi Dalit Special National Committee and Janata Samajwadi Dalit Mukti Sangathan are alleged to be organizing the event.
