Robin Tamang, renowned singer, discovered dead in his bedroom

KATHMANDU: Robin Tamang, the renowned lead vocalist of the Nepali rock band ‘Robin and the Revolution,’ has died.

Tamang, a 60-year-old actor, died on Tuesday evening at his home in Budhanilkantha Municipality-5 Chisyani, Kathmandu.

Tamang was discovered dead in his home, according to District Police Complex Kathmandu Chief SSP Dan Karki.

The exact cause of Tamang’s demise remains unclear.

Tamang’s body was discovered in the bedroom of his two-story residence, according to Karki. Although the cause of death has not been disclosed, authorities have stated that nothing unusual was observed.

Robin’s body has been kept at the TU Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj for a post-mortem examination.

Robin Lahure was born in Singapore to the Lahure family. He visited Nepal in 1996 and sang songs such as ‘Dum Maro Dum,’ ‘Kalpana,’ ‘Keta Keti,’ ‘Mero Maya,’ and ‘Thikai Chha,’ which are popular among the youth.

He has appeared in over a dozen Nepali films, the most recent being ‘Chhadke 2’, in which he played a gangster.
