EBL provides financial aid to Samata School, Birgunj
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the bank has offered financial assistance to Samata School in the Birgunj prison premises.
KATHMANDU: Samata School, which is housed in the Birgunj prison premises, has received financial assistance from Everest Bank Limited (EBL).
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the bank has offered financial assistance to Samata School in the Birgunj prison premises.
The bank has engaged in education, health, natural disaster management, environmental protection, cultural promotion, rural infrastructure improvement, income generation for socially disadvantaged groups, financial literacy, customer protection programs, and various charitable works as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The bank has provided two lakh rupees of financial assistance to the primary school run by Samata Educational Guthi Nepal in Birgunj prison premises with the sacred purpose of providing school education to the children of women prisoners who are living with the prisoners who are serving their prison sentences in the Birgunj prison premises.
Bibhuti Neupane, the bank’s regional manager for Madhesh State, handed out the cheque for the specified amount to the school’s principal, Anamika Mishra, at a ceremony held on the school grounds.
The bank believes that this will assist convicts’ children gain an education and additional support in school. Principal Mishra further stated that with the help of Everest Bank, the education of the convicts’ children will be facilitated and that because the school is a shared property of the Birgunj region, everyone should contribute to its construction.
