SAFF: Lebanon group winner

KATHMANDU: Lebanon’s invited squad won its third consecutive SAFF Championship football match in India.

Lebanon defeated the Maldives 1-0 in the Sri Kanti Rao Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday, their third consecutive triumph.

Hassan Maatouk scored the game-winning goal for Lebanon. He scored in the game’s 23rd minute.

Lebanon now has 9 points after three games. Lebanon won group ‘B’ and advanced to the semi-finals.

Lebanon will now face India in the semi-finals.

This is the second defeat of the Maldives.

Maldives is in third place with 3 points from 3 matches.
