Nepal advances to semi-finals beating Thailand

KATHMANDU: Nepal won the ACC U-16 Eastern Zone Cup in Malaysia over Thailand.

In the completed match, Nepal defeated Thailand by a wide margin of 225 runs.

With this win, Nepal advances to the semi-finals for the first time. Thailand were bowled out for 44 runs in 13.2 overs while chasing a winning goal of 270 runs.

Prior to it, Nepal, who won the toss and opted to bat first, scored 269 runs while losing 8 wickets in the allocated 35 overs.

Group ‘A’ has Nepal, Thailand and Malaysia. Group ‘B’ has Singapore, Hong Kong, Maldives and Indonesia. In the first match of Group A, Malaysia defeated Thailand by 118 runs.

Both Nepal and Malaysia have reached the semi-finals from Group ‘A’. Nepal will play against Malaysia on Friday.
