Lalita Niwas scandal: Former Election Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah nabbed

KATHMANDU: Former Election Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah has also been arrested in connection with the purchase of government land at Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar and subsequent sale to a private individual. From Bhadra 2073 to Chaith 2075, he served as Election Commissioner.

The number of people detained in this case reached seven on Tuesday.

Previously, five persons were detained, including the then-head of the Dillibazar Land Revenue office and Meen Bahadur Gurung, the proprietor of Bhatbhateni grocery.

According to the CIAA’s inquiry report, it was proposed that 175 people be found guilty in this case.
