Number of people arrested in Lalita Niwas land scandal reached 6
The police have prepared to bring them to court and take a term to keep them in custody and prosecute them for the crime of forging official documents.
KATHMANDU: The police have arrested one more person in the involvement in the case of buying the government land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatat and passing it in the name of a person.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team of Nepal Police has arrested Gopal Karki, the then-employee of the Goods Port Office, Dillibazar. With this, the number of people arrested in this case has reached 6.
Earlier, Kaladhar Deuja, the then head of the Land Revenue office, and Dharmaprasad Gautam, Surendraman Kapali and Bhupendramani KC, the then employees, were arrested.
Similarly, on Tuesday, the police arrested Meen Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, from his private residence in Naxal.
The police have prepared to bring them to court and take a term to keep them in custody and prosecute them for the crime of forging official documents.
In this case, the CIAA recommended that 175 people be found guilty and prosecuted against them. The government has revived this case which has been closed for some time and has started the investigation.
