Meen Bahadur Gurung, owner of Bhatbhateni, arrested from Naxal

KATHMANDU: Meen Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni supermarket, has been arrested.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested him from his residence in Naxal.
He was arrested, according to reports, as his name was fabricated in the matter of transferring the government land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar to an individual. He is alleged to have been utilizing Lalita Niwas’ land as storage for Bhatbhateni.
The case is being looked into by the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission.
The Commission has filed a complaint in Mangsir 2076 in the special court against 175 people, including the former deputy prime minister and a former minister.
Gurung was ordered to pay 39 crore 27 lakh rupees in the case brought by the commission.
