KATHMANDU: Singer Prakash Saput was hit with a bottle on stage during a live performance. A bottle was thrown at him in a musical program organized by Nepalese in Romania.
Saput was hit on the head by a can beer bottle from the audience while he was performing on the stage at 12 o’clock Sunday night according to Nepali time.
Saput was enthralling the audience with his version of the song ‘Bola Maya’ when the incident occurred. A can bottle hurled from the audience gallery caught him in the face, causing a small lesion to his brow.
The intensity of the crash caused the program to be halted for over 30 minutes while anxious organizers attended to Saput’s injury.
A drunk person among the concertgoers threw the bottle. At this moment, the motive for the attack is unknown.
The incident has received extensive attention as a result of video footage obtained by passersby and later uploaded on social media sites.
The viral video has provoked fury and sympathy for Saput from fans and fellow musicians alike since it went viral in the early hours of Monday morning.
This upsetting situation is not an unusual occurrence in the Nepali music industry.
Previously, prominent rapper Samir Ghising, better known as VTEN, was involved in a similar incident in Japan when a beer bottle was hurled at him during a concert.
Furthermore, renowned singer Rajesh Payal Rai was treated to a disparaging act while performing on stage in the United States.
