KATHMANDU: Bangladesh has won their first game in the 14th SAFF Football Championship, which is currently being held in India.

Bangladesh got their first win by defeating Maldives by 3-1 at Sri Kanti Rao Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday.

Maldives earned the game’s first lead.

Hamza Mohamed gave the Maldives an early lead in the 17th minute of the game.

Rakib Hossain, however, scored in the 42nd minute of the game to tie the game at 1-1.

Tariq Kazi scored in the 67th minute to put Bangladesh ahead 2-1.

Then, in the 90th minute of the game, Sheikh Morslin scored a goal to give Bangladesh a 3-1 victory.

With the win, Bangladesh, which is in the third position of Group ‘B’, has collected 3 points in 2 matches.

In the first match, Bangladesh was defeated by Lebanon.

Maldives is in second place with 3 points from 2 games.
