Hindi movie screening resumes in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Hindi films have been screened in the theatres of Kathmandu from today.
The Film Association decided on Thursday to start screening Hindi films today. Following that judgment, the film ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,’ featuring Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, was shown in Kathmandu.
The movie will be shown in Nepal’s major multiplex chain QFX and One Cinemas.
Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan, announced on Monday that he will not let Hindi films to be broadcast until the controversial conservation ‘Janaki is the daughter of India’ in ‘Adipurush’ is removed from India.
On Thursday, the Patan High Court granted an interim ruling against Balen’s decision to prohibit the screening of Hindi films in Kathmandu.
