SAFF: Maldives win over Bhutan
Maldives won thanks to goals from Hamza Mohamed and Naiz Hassan.

KATHMANDU: The Maldives are off to a winning start in the ongoing SAFF Championship football tournament in India.
On Thursday, the Maldives won 2-0 over Bhutan at the Sri Kanti Rao Stadium in Bangalore.
Maldives won thanks to goals from Hamza Mohamed and Naiz Hassan.
Mohamed netted a penalty in the sixth minute of the game to give the Maldives an early lead.
Then, in the 90th minute, Hassan scored to give the Maldives a 2-0 victory.
With the win, Maldives in Group ‘B’ has collected 3 points in the first game.
Bhutan started the tournament with a loss.
8 nations are participating in this edition of SAFF.
Along with Nepal, hosts India, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bhutan, Pakistan, and Maldives will participate in this edition of the championship.
Kuwait and Lebanon are the invited teams in this edition.
