KATHMANDU:  The West Indies have set a target of 340 runs for Nepal.

In their third encounter in the ODI World Cup qualifiers, Nepal gets a target of 340 runs.

West Indies scored 339 runs for the cost of seven wickets in 50 overs at the Harare Sports Club.

West Indies’ century hitters were Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran. Captain Shai Hope scored 132 runs off 129 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes. Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi dismissed him.

For Nepal, Karan KC dismissed opener Kyle Mayers for 1 run. Gulshan Jha dismissed Johnson Charles in the first ball of the fifth over. For the third wicket, Brandon King and captain Shai Hope shared 46 runs off 68 balls. West Indies tried to return to the game with the help of this partnership.

However, the partnership was broken when Brandon King was dismissed by Sandeep Lamichhane. King scored 32 runs off 42 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

For the fourth wicket, captain Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran shared a double-century partnership of 216 runs in 172 balls. After scoring 115 runs in 94 balls with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes, Dipendra Singh was dismissed by Airee.

Pooran was granted two chances. For the first time, wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh dropped Lalit’s catch. Aasif himself missed the catch on Karan KC’s ball for the second time.

Pooran was on three runs when he was given life for the first time. In his second over, Pooran was batting for 54 runs.

Rovman Powell, who arrived to the crease shortly after Pooran was dismissed, and skipper Hope shared 39 runs in 19 balls. Powell was removed by Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi after reaching 29 runs in 14 balls.

Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi got three wickets for Nepal, while Karan KC, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Gulsan Jha each took one.
