Following an investigation into the issue, the bank installed automated pad vending machines at a number of schools.
KATHMANDU: Sunrise Bank has provided Pad ATMs to female students and working women to promote women’s health and empowerment.
They appear to be reluctant to attend school at the present due to a shortage of structured restrooms and sanitary pads in the school.
Following an investigation into the issue, the bank installed automated pad vending machines at a number of schools.
According to the bank, the machine, which comes with a pad when a coin is put and has a battery backup, would create an atmosphere in which students and women working in schools can simply obtain a pad when necessary.
During a ceremony today, the bank presented one pad ATM and one pad disposal machine to Shanti Bidyagriha Secondary School, Lainchaur in Kathmandu.
Hari Prasad Acharya, the bank’s Assistant General Manager, handed over the supplies to the school’s principal, Shiva Kumari Baral Ghimire.
