POKHARA: For the first time, an international aeroplane landed at Pokhara International Airport (PIA).
An international chartered plane landed at the first time about 6 months after the inauguration.
The plane of the Chinese airline business ‘Sichuan Airlines’ arrived in Pokhara with VIP visitors and players.
The plane took off from Sichuan Province in China. According to reports, the plane arrived in Pokhara in 2 hours and 55 minutes.
The plane was chartered by the spectators and Chinese tourists along with the players who came to participate in the ‘Dragon Boat Race Festival’ in Pokhara from Friday. There were 130 passengers on board.
National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Timilsina, who is visiting China in a chartered flight, high-ranking personalities including the Deputy Mayor of Lingji Nagar, China, have come to Pokhara.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ inaugurated the International Airport on English New Year’s Day.
Although the first international flight landed in Pokhara on a chartered aeroplane, the regular commercial international flight is still in limbo.
