World Music Day to be celebrated in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: World Music Day-2080 is going to be celebrated in Pokhara by organising a musical programme on June 21. The World Music Day is celebrated on June 21 every year.

Eighteen organisations of Pokhara are participating in the musical programme going to be organised on the occasion of World Music Day.

Saptarangi Cultural Academy is the main organiser of the musical programme.

Chairperson of the Academy, Nabaraj Baral, said the musical programme is going to be organised to give continuity to World Music Day, which was not celebrated for the past five years.

The organiser expressed the belief that the programme would help increase musical activities in Pokhara.

National and international artists would perform in the musical programme where an arrangement of free entry to spectators has been made.

The programme, which has 16 different performances, is going to be organised at collaboration of Gandaki Pragya Pratisthan and Pokhara Pragya Pratisthan.
