KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) President Rajendra Lingden accused the ruling party of politicizing the issue of citizenship.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, he urged the government to bring the Citizenship Bill to the Parliament immediately if the citizenship problem is to be solved. Chair Lingden said that they have no objection to passing the bill through fast track after discussing its content. He objected that the ruling party is spreading false propaganda by pretending that the opposition parties are not giving citizenship to Nepali citizens. Chair Lingden repeated many times that even though the government has approved the Citizenship Bill from the Chair to make India happy and to make the citizens who do not have citizenship happy, it does not seem to have any intention to grant citizenship to the victims.
