Giri, former mayor of Chapakot died in a Scorpio accident, driver arrested

POKHARA: Shiva Kumar Giri, the former mayor of Chapakot Municipality in Syangja, tragically lost his life in a Scorpio (Ba 15 Pa 1701) accident on Friday evening.

The incident occurred while he was en route from Rangkhola to Syangja when the vehicle he was travelling in veered out of control and collided at Barja, as confirmed by local authorities.

Giri, (60), who sustained severe injuries in the accident, was immediately rushed to the Syangja District Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away while undergoing treatment.

The driver, identified as Suraj Nepali from Syangja Kolma, has been detained by the police for further investigation into the incident.
