KATHMANDU: Hari Krishna Karki has been named Chief Justice.
The President appointed Karki as Chief Justice after the Parliamentary Hearing Committee supported his name.
President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Chief Justice Karki at Sheetal Niwas.
Karki, who previously served as Chief Justice of India for eight months, would be forced to resign on Shrawan 20 (August 5) due to age restrictions.
His term as a judge will last slightly more than a month and a half.
