Effect of Balen’s warning: Morning screening of ‘Adipurush’ stopped in Kathmandu halls
The morning show has been postponed for multiplexes such as QFX, INI, Big Movies, and One Cinemas.
KATHMANDU: The morning screening of the Indian film ‘Adipurush’ has been stopped in Kathmandu. Following the uproar surrounding Adipurush, all film halls in Kathmandu Valley ceased screenings on Friday morning, as directed by the Movie Association.
The morning show has been postponed for multiplexes such as QFX, INI, Big Movies, and One Cinemas. The Film Association, the country’s umbrella body of film halls, has sent a circular to all halls, instructing them to halt the morning show of ‘Adipurush’ in all Kathmandu valley halls and resume it after assessing the situation outside the valley.
Halls have made preparations to refund tickets for the morning show or, if it is sold out, to schedule another show.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, the Film Association convened an emergency meeting.
According to reports, a decision will be taken regarding the mayor of Kathmandu, Balen Shah, and Adipurush’s performance at the meeting.
Mayor Balen announced on Thursday evening that the Hindi film will not be permitted to screen in Kathmandu unless it is revealed that she has an Indian daughter in Adipurush. He warns that if the word is not fulfilled within three days, any Hindi film will be permitted to screen in Kathmandu.
