Censor pass for movie ‘Adipurush’ after removing controversial dialogue
Censor Board Chair Anil Kumar Dutta stated that the board passed the censor after the film distributor promised to remove the dialogue 'Janaki is an Indian daughter' from the movie that will be screened in Nepal
KATHMANDU: The Censor Board has said that the South Indian film ‘Adipurush’ has passed the censor in Nepal after the dialogue ‘Janaki is a daughter of India’ was removed.
The Censor Board declined to give the movie a pass certificate, citing objectionable dialogue.
Censor Board Chair Anil Kumar Dutta stated that the board passed the censor after the film distributor promised to remove the dialogue ‘Janaki is an Indian daughter’ from the movie that will be screened in Nepal
‘We cleared Adipurush’s censor after requesting that the dialogue stating Sita is India’s daughter be removed from the movie. There is no such dialogue in the movie that is to be screened in Nepal,’ stated Chair Dutta.
There is no agreement in India on what will happen. However, it will be abolished in Nepal.
The trailer for this movie, which will be released worldwide on Friday, also includes a conversation regarding Janaki a daughter of India.
Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, has declared that if the film is released in India without this dialogue removed, he will stop it in Kathmandu within three days.
