KATHMANDU: The match between Nepal and India A in the ACC Women’s T-20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup has been canceled due to rain.
Both teams shared 1/1 point each as the cancellation prevented the toss from taking place.
Despite the cancellation, Nepal’s chances of advancing to the semi-finals remain intact, thanks to the point gained from the cancelled match.
The match was scheduled to start at 11:30 in the morning at Mongkong Cricket Ground in Hong Kong.
Nepal was given the opportunity to play in the match as Thailand withdrew its name at the last minute due to visa issues.
The Nepali women’s squad is competing in the ACC Women’s T-20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup for the first time.
Nepal is in Group A’ in the competition. Nepal is in the same group as Hong Kong, India, and Pakistan.
Nepal will play the home team Hong Kong on June 17 in the final match of the group stage.
Group ‘B’ consists of Malaysia, UAE, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ‘A’.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final will be held on June 19. The final will be held on June 21.
