KATHMANDU: In a significant development, the Kathmandu Crime Investigation Office has apprehended Raju Poudel, widely known as ‘Raju Master,’ for his alleged involvement in online gambling.
Marichman Shrestha, also known as ‘Balchi Dhurve,’ was arrested alongside Poudel.
Additionally, the police have detained six other individuals whose identities have not yet been disclosed.
SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of the Kathmandu District Police Complex confirmed that the arrests were made in various locations, including Swayambhu and other areas within Kathmandu.
The operation carried out on Wednesday, resulted in the apprehension of a total of five individuals.
The suspects are believed to have utilized the platform 1xBet to engage in unlawful gambling activities, specifically placing bets on games taking place worldwide.
It is important to note that such gambling practices are prohibited in Nepal.
Following their arrest, all individuals involved have been transferred to the District Police Complex in Bhaktapur and Kathmandu for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
