8 individuals, including artist ‘Balchi Dhrube,’ arrested for illegal gambling

KATHMANDU: Eight persons, including artist ‘Balchi Dhrube’ (Marichman Shrestha), have been arrested for gambling on 1xbet.

Eight persons were arrested for betting and advertising on the outlawed online betting app ‘1xbet,’ according to SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of the Kathmandu District Police Complex.

Based on the complaint against those involved in online betting, the police arrested 5 people on Wednesday. It was seen that the 5 people arrested on Wednesday had a transaction worth 740 million.

Police allege that the arrested artists along with Balchi Dhrube advertised 1xbet through YouTube.

According to the authorities, an advertisement was noticed on YouTube claiming that a promo code could be used to gain a discount on 1xbet.
