Cabinet Decision: Baikuntha Aryal as Chief Secretary, Bairagi as National Security Adviser

KATHMANDU: Dr. Baikuntha Aryal has been named Chief Secretary by the government.

The morning meeting of the Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar resolved to replace current Chief Secretary Shankardas Bairagi with Aryal.

He was scheduled to go on mandatory leave on Friday. Shankar Bairagi, who will retire in Ashoj, was compelled to quit, and Aryal was appointed in his place.

Likewise, the current Chief Secretary, Bairagi, has been appointed National Security Adviser.

He has been assigned as a National Security Council advisor to give ministerial support.
