On Baisakh 25 (May 8), the Constitutional Council proposed that Chief Justice Karki be appointed as Chief Justice.
KATHMANDU: The parliamentary hearing committee has started discussions with Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki proposed by the Constitutional Council. Karki is presenting his action plan in the ongoing debate at the Singha Durbar.
During this, he stated that, based on the recommendations of the committee under his guidance, there has been a 60% reduction in judicial divergence from the district court at all levels since the implementation of the round-robin system.
Karki also indicated his intention to go to an automated method.
Karki, who was recommended by the Constitutional Council’s Chief Justice, will also be questioned regarding the charges levelled against him. The committee met with the complainant yesterday to consider the 29 accusations filed against him.

The creation of the parliamentary hearing committee has caused a delay in Karki’s parliamentary hearing process.
