KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court will hear a case today seeking action against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ who is also the chair of the ruling CPN Maoist Centre, and former Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
Former child soldiers Lenin Bista, Krishna Prasad Dangal, Parameshwar Khadka, Shobha Rayamajhi, Tulsi Nepal, Sagar Kumar Chauhan, Madan Rai, Rajan Tamang, and Khem Bahadur Rai have filed a petition demanding action against Prime Minister Prachanda and former Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai is to be heard today.
In the writ, both leaders are asked to file a war crime complaint and carry out the action.
They also want Prachanda’s role as Prime Minister to be removed. They also want an order to stop referring to them as unqualified warriors.
The Maoists used them as child soldiers in the armed conflict for 16 and a half years after the detailed peace agreement and have not done justice, so the writ petitioners have requested an interim order to immediately identify them as child soldiers and make them pay compensation, compensation, and other justice actions.
They claimed Prachanda and Bhattarai had duped them and damaged their chances in the fight.
