Barkley’s contract with Chelsea, a former Premier League midfielder, expires in June.
Barkley joined the French League One team on a free transfer last season.
Nice’s Barkley appeared in 28 games.
Barkley, 29, joined Chelsea in 2018 from Everton.
Barkley, who made his Premier League debut at the age of seven, scored 29 goals and assisted 28 times in 232 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Everton.
He has six goals in 33 England appearances.
