Sunkoshi accident: body of missing CTEVT employee found

KATHMANDU: The body of the missing CTEVT employee has been found in Sunkoshi.

The body of Yamaprasad Bhurtel, 56, of Nawalparasi (East) Pragati Municipality 7, was discovered at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to the District Police Office Sindhuli.

Previously, the bodies of two employees who died in the same accident were discovered.

Bhurtel was the Director of CTEVT’s Planning Division. The vehicle plunges into the Sunkoshi river after an accident in Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 Laukun of Sindhuli on Friday, Jestha 19 (June 2).

At the time of the disaster, the bodies of two employees were discovered. Bhurtel’s body was discovered on the banks of the Sunkoshi River in Tapli Rural Municipality-5 Kumaltar) of Udayapur on Saturday, some 95 kilometers from the accident location.

Four persons, including Bhurtel, were traveling to Khotang from Bhaktapur in a vehicle (State 3- 01-002 Jha 4985).

Dang’s driver, Krishna Chaudhary, was able to save his life by swimming out of the river. However, 57-year-old Joint Secretary Krishna Bahadur KC, Director of CityTV’s Administration Division, and 32-year-old Bhanu Paudel, an electrical instructor, died.

Their remains and their vehicle were discovered on Jestha 23 (June 6).
