KATHMANDU: Shahid Smarak ‘A’ Division League Club FC Khumaltar has announced that they will not play the league’s final match if the games between the clubs in the relegation zone are not played at the same time.

Khumaltar has written to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) demanding that matches between teams in the relegation zone be played at the same time.

Khumaltar has stated that if their requests are not granted, they will not play the final match of the season.

The final match of the ‘A’ Division Football League competition was sent to the teams that are fighting for relegation to be played on the same day at the same time according to ‘FIFA Fair Play’, but the reply has not been received so far. Therefore, we want to inform you that we will not play the last match of the league through this letter,” Khumaltar said in the letter sent to ANFA.

Khumaltar is scheduled to play against Church Boys United in the last match today.

Khumaltar is last in the standings with 27 points in 25 games. Khumaltar is under intense pressure to win in order to avoid relegation.

Church Boys have won the championship after only one game. Church leads the way with 45 points in 25 games.

APF Club and Friends Club will compete in the relegation zone on Friday.

Three Star, another relegation-threatened squad, also plays on Saturday. In the final match, Three Star will face Jawalakhel.
