KATHMANDU: The scorching heat that has been in effect for a few days does not appear to be abating anytime soon.

As the western low pressure system is not active, there is no chance of immediate rain, thus the heat will persist for a few more days.

According to meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane, there is no immediate threat of heavy rain, therefore the heat will last another four or five days. It is expected that hot air ‘loo’ would blow for four/five days in most Terai districts.

He stated that there is little probability of significant rain in some hilly areas, although there may be intermittent rain in one or two locations.

According to meteorologist Lamichhane, even though the sporadic rains will bring some relief for the time being, the temperature will not drop, and the summer will be the same as before. He predicted that the monsoon will arrive late this year, extending the summer season.

The maximum temperature has been 40 degree Celsius for a consecutive week in most parts of the Terai. The maximum temperature can exceed 40 degrees in some regions, while the minimum temperature and hot air are oppressive.

According to the division, the hottest temperature on Thursday reached 42.6 degrees Celsius in Simra, Bara district.

Following that, Bhairawa and Janakpur had 42.4 degrees Celsius, Nepalgunj 41.8, Biratnagar 41.5, and Dhangadhi 40.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the department’s records, the maximum temperature in Kathmandu Valley on Thursday reached 32.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu valley has also increased to 20 degrees, according to measurements taken at 6:30 a.m. this morning.

Monsoon air has arrived in Kerala

The monsoon air has arrived in Kerala, India’s southernmost state. According to meteorologist Lamichhane, the monsoon air that arrives in Kerala takes 12 days to reach Nepal.

However, he claims that it can happen a few days early or later.

‘This year’s monsoon air has reached Kerala, the southern region of India,’ said meteorologist Lamichhane. After 12 days, air from Kerala reaches Nepal. However, it can happen a couple of days prior.’

He stated that clouds are forming in Kerala, India’s sky. The wind that delivers clouds and rain is known as the monsoon wind. When monsoon air arrives in Kerala, India on June 1, it usually arrives in Nepal on June 13.

He claims that the speed of the air will determine how quickly the monsoon air arrives in Nepal. Last June 5, the monsoon arrived in Nepal.
