Lionel Messi likely to join US club Inter Miami

KATHMANDU: The American team Inter Miami has agreed to sign Argentine forward Lionel Messi.
Messi, who recently left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is thought to have verbally agreed to join Miami.
Messi was released by PSG at the end of the season.
He joined PSG in 2021 after leaving Barcelona, where he had spent 21 years.
PSG won the French League both seasons he was there.
Argentina captain Messi agreed to a two-year contract extension with PSG in 2021.
Messi scored 32 goals with PSG in 74 games in all competitions.
Messi reportedly turned down offers from Barcelona and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.
He chose Miami as of the assistance of firms such as Adidas and Apple.
Messi, 35, has chosen to play outside of Europe for the first time after being named the world’s best player seven times.
He intended to play in Europe again the next season. However, after receiving no good offers from European teams, he was forced to pick between Inter Miami and Al-Hilal.
According to the BBC, he may have been drawn to America by the Miami lifestyle, the world’s largest brand Adidas, and a contract with Apple.
