KATHMANDU: The Department of Water and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division has said that the heat will continue to rise in most parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, for a few more days.

As the western low pressure system is not active, there will be no imminent rain, thus the heat will continue to rise for a few days.

The monsoon is predicted to arrive later this year, according to meteorologist Binu Maharjan. ‘Monsoon normally arrives in Nepal on June 13, but there is a chance of a slight delay this year. ‘The heat has increased despite the fact that the monsoon is not active,’ she remarked.

The division issued a special bulletin stating that maximum and lowest temperatures will steadily rise in most regions of the Terai over the following few days.

The department requests that people take the necessary steps to avoid the possibility of hot air and ‘loo’ in Terai districts over the next five days.
