KATHMANDU: Asim Shah, a Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP, has called the government’s attention to the use of underutilized electric buses.

MP Shah stated at zero time in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday that 34 of the 37 electric buses purchased by the government at a cost of Rs 57 crore are yet to be placed into service.

He called the government’s attention to the lack of required bus parking and charging stations.

He said, ’37 electric buses were purchased for around 57 crores with the cooperation of the Nepal government with the common transport. Out of which 3 have been put into operation, while 34 have not yet been put into operation and are stuck in the parking lot. When to have a son, to sew a vow now, this proverb shows the haste of our ancestors’ preparation for any subject. Unfortunately, we are lagging far behind our ancestors. The son is born, there is no vote. The electric bus has arrived, there is no parking or charging station.’

He further said that the government has been uninterested in promoting the Nepali film industry.
