KATHMANDU: Italian club AC Milan has sacked the technical director of the club, Paolo Maldini.
Maldini, who is also the former captain of Milan, was sacked after 5 years.
Maldini helped Milan win the Serie A title after 11 years last season.
“We thank him for his years of service, contributing to the return to the Champions League and to winning the Scudetto,” a club statement said.
This season, Milan was in fourth place.
Similarly, Milan reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The 54-year-old spent his entire career at AC Milan, appearing in 901 games and earning 26 trophies, including seven Serie A titles and five European Cup/Champions League wins.
