Traffic lights being installed in the main square of Pokhara

POKHARA: Traffic lights will be installed at major intersections in Pokhara.
As traffic surged and the police could not handle it alone, the traffic light is being installed.
Light installation work has begun at Prithvi Chowk, Bhawan Chowk, Srijan Chowk, Zero Kilometer, and Birauta Chowk in the first phase.
The city will install lights at a cost of 17 million with the assistance of the road department.
Traffic signal lights will be placed in 5 sections of Zero Kilometer, 4 portions of Srijan Chowk, 3 sections of Bhawan Chowk, 4 sections of Prithvi Chowk, and 5 sections of Biruta Chowk.
Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality is inviting tenders for installation of traffic signal lights in 5 more intersections.
Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated that plans had been made to install lights at Hemja’s Chipledhunga, Hallanchowk, Rastra Bank Chowk, Ratna Chowk, and Milan Chowk.
Lights have already been installed in Mahendrapul. However, it has never been used.
