AFC U-20 : Nepal-Myanmar clash

KATHMANDU: Nepal takes on Myanmar in the first match of the second round of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers today.

Nepal will face the Myanmar national team at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

The Nepal-Myanmar match will begin at 5:45 PM Nepali time.

Nepal hopes to get off to a solid start in the competition by defeating Myanmar.

Speaking at the pre-match conference held on Monday, Nepali team’s head coach Yam Prasad Gurung said that they will play to win every match.

‘The team’s morale has improved as a result of the first round’s win. We are a team that can beat any team because we are together. ‘We will battle to win every match,’ Gurung added. ‘There are teams above us in the FIFA rating, but we will approach the field with great morale.’

Nepal is in Group ‘B’ in the second round of selection. China, Myanmar and Chinese Taipei are in Nepal’s group.

On Thursday, Nepal will face China in the second match. Similarly, in the final match on Saturday, Nepal will face Chinese Taipei.

Nepal has advanced to the second round of selection following the first round in Palestine. Nepal, the group winner in Group ‘B,’ has advanced to the second level.
