PSG’s Instagram followers drops after Lionel Messi exit
More than 10,000 Twitter followers have also dropped.
KATHMANDU: PSG has lost almost 1.5 million Instagram followers since Lionel Messi announced his departure from the club.
After losing 3-2 to Clermont Foot in the final league match of the season on Saturday night, Messi announced his departure from the club.
PSG’s social media followers have decreased after the news. Majority of followers have dropped on Instagram.
There were more than 70 million followers prior to the game, but that number has since dropped to 68.9 million. More than 10,000 Twitter followers have also dropped.
The fans of PSG, who won the league title this season, even booed Messi in their final game. Following the revelation that Messi is almost certain to leave the club, fans began hooting against him in protests and matches.
Messi’s future club has not been determined. According to media reports, Messi, who is attempting to return to Barcelona, is more likely to join the Saudi club Al Hilal.
