Palpa jeep accident: four deceased identified
11 people were injured in the accident.
KATHMANDU: The death toll in a jeep accident at Keurechheda in Palpa’s Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-8 Satyawati has risen to four.
All of the deceased’s identities have now been identified. 11 people were injured in the accident.
A jeep numbered (LU 1 CH 9024), which was travelling from Saljhandi in Rupandehi to Penina in Arghakhanchi, had an accident at that place on Sunday evening.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Thapa, spokesperson for District Police Office Palpa, three persons died on the spot, including the driver, and one died while receiving treatment.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Ramesh BK, Jeep driver residing in Panini Rural Municipality-1 Padena of Arghakhanchi, 55-year-old Shyamkala Pariyar of Panini-1, 25-year-old Sita Gautam of Panini-2 Pokharathok and 2-year-old child Sanyog Gautam of the same place. The police said that Sanyog died during the treatment and others died on the spot.
Five of the injured are in critical condition. According to the police, five injured people are being treated at Lumbini Regional Hospital in Butwal, two at Chauraha Hospital in Butwal, and four at Bhairawa Medical College.
The jeep crashed around 70 meters beneath the road. According to Pranau Thapa, the accident is currently being examined.
