KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club beat title contenders Machhindra Football Club in Shahid Smarak ‘A’ Division League Football.
On Sunday, Police defeated Machindra 2-1 at Chyasal Ground.
Police won thanks to two goals from Moses Gyabaah Twum.
Afiz Olawale of Machhindra scored a goal.
Police overcame a one-goal deficit to overcome Machindra.
Olawale scored in the 27th minute to give Machhindra an early lead.
However, Moses scored a free kick in the 75th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Moses then scored his second personal goal in the 81st minute to give Police a 2-1 victory.
This is the police’s 11th triumph.
Police are fourth in the standings with 37 points after 24 games.
Machhindra’s title bid has taken a hit as a result of this defeat.
Machhindra is second in the standings with 39 points in 24 games.
