The meeting on Sunday morning was disrupted by legislators from three parties standing up at an emergency time before proceeding with the usual program.
Taking the opinion given by the speaker during the meeting, they demanded that the prime minister appear in parliament and respond to the fact that the now-defunct citizenship law was adopted illegally.
Similarly, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ had demanded an explanation for the boundary issue with the Indian government as well as the map of Nepal’s boundaries kept in the Indian Parliament.
Following then, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire adjourned Parliament for one hour.
Even after that, because the opposition did not abandon their obstructionist stance, the Parliament Secretariat issued a notification and notified the meeting was deferred till tomorrow.
